Kelowna is located in the interior of British Columbia, in the Okanagan Valley. Known for its year-round outdoor activities, the Okanagan provides a beautiful setting for the 2015 International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges.
The Okanagan is internationally acclaimed for its wineries, ski hills, beaches, and orchards. Visitors can enjoy water sports on Okanagan Lake (stretching 110km/68 miles), golf a local course, or hike one of the many trails around the valley. Kelowna benefits from its valley surroundings, which provide an ideal setting for vineyards and orchards.
In June, visitors to Kelowna can expect warm temperatures between 20 ˚C/68 ˚F to 30˚C/90˚F. Kelowna is a dry climate with very low humidity.
It is recommended to pack clothing that can be layered as, while the days may get hot, it can cool off in the evenings and when visiting nearby mountains. The dress code for the conference is informal, we recommend bringing active wear for walking around the campus and nearby lands.
